Thanks for visiting. I’m a writer, editor, and content strategist specializing in energy, climate, innovation, entrepreneurship, science, and inspiration.
Here’s more about me, and here’s more about what I do:
General news and features
I conceive and write stories (even the occasional video script) for mainstream media audiences: mostly about environmental issues and science but sometimes just about people.
Science writing
I write science news and features for national labs under the U.S. Department of Energy. Other work for the national labs includes writing various types of documents (e.g. award nominations, internal communications), posting on social media, editing reports, assembling e-newsletters, and building websites. In 2022, I received an Excellence in Institutional Writing Award from the National Association of Science Writers for Breaking the Bell Curve, a story for Colby College.
Brand stories
I work with brands and creative agencies, delivering and proofing copy for a variety of projects. These include brand stories, corporate sustainability content, sponsor content, case studies, and website copy.
Technical writing and editing
I dive into technical material for government and corporate clients as a technical writer, editor, and proofreader, helping to streamline content, ensure accuracy, and apply consistency with style guides.
Ghostwriting
I ghostwrite for nonprofit organizations, drafting reports, blog posts, fact sheets, and op-eds. I can’t link to a lot here because, you know, it’s ghostwriting. But I have published samples and references if you’re interested.
I also do some basic digital producering: building within a CMS such as AEM or WordPress, slinging photos, minding SEO, curating web pages, managing projects. This comes in handy for clients who need an editorial contractor who can multitask.
